At Lindsworth School we feel it’s important for pupils to build confidence and creative strategies to prepare them for adult life. Pupils are taken on a journey to not only discover and understand their own music choices but also the musical interests of their peers and the environment around them.

Music at KS3

From Years 7 to 9 pupils learn the foundation aspects of music. This includes the musical elements, the instrument families, music notation and music technology. Pupils learn key skills on a range of instruments to perform, compose and analyse music. Throughout their time at Lindsworth, pupils will study and learn about a broad range of music styles from World Music and Classical, to Jazz, Rock, Pop and Hip-Hop. We believe music should be accessible and inclusive to all pupils and the skills learnt at KS3 provide the building blocks of being a great musician.
