Further to the Government’s announcement that the Summer 2021 examinations series will not go ahead as planned we can now share with you details on how schools are being asked to assess students work to arrive at ‘Teacher Assessed Grades’ (TAG’s).

Teachers will be using evidence from many different areas of work including:

Exam Board Past Papers

Exam Board Mock Papers (edited to cover core knowledge subjects)

Exam Board Additional Sample Materials

Work carried out via online learning

In class assessments

We have included the leaflet ‘Guidance for students, parent s and guardians: GCSEs and AS/A Levels in England Summer 2021’ from the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) which provides more details on the complete assessments, results and appeals process for this year’s examinations.

Teachers are not allowed to inform students of the grades that they will be submitting to the exam boards.

Mock Exam Week

During the week of Monday 17th May – Friday 21st May 2021 we will be running Mock examinations in school for final data collection towards the Teacher Assessed Grades; so it is important that all pupils entered for examinations attend school each day of this week.

Pupil’s Statement of Entries are enclosed with JCQ and Ofqual Guidance Booklets.

Results Day

GCSE Results Day is Thursday 12th August 2021.  Pupils can come into school to collect their results in person* from 09.00am – 12midday.  Staff will be available to offer support to pupils.  Results not collected will be posted 1st class to the address that we have on our system – so please ensure that we have the most up to date details.

*If a pupil would like someone to collect their results on their behalf then we must have received written notification of this before the last day of the summer term (stating the name of the person who will be collecting their results).
