The children have all taken part in the Poetry Wonderland competition for young writers to promote creative writing opportunities, with a chance of getting their poems published. The theme was left open for the children to decide what their poem would be about. I was really impressed with the students choice.

When looking up to the dark moonlight,
I saw a dragon having a fight, with all its might.
Just then I realised it was breathing lightning, and I was in for a frightening
That must have been why that storm had been going on for days
And the waves were going all over the place!
Once the dragon looked at me,
And sent a roar my way.
I even found an egg,
Then it hatched the same day,
When I looked after it, the dragon would thunder to say,
Look after my baby!
If you don’t,
You, I will slay.
