Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) education is a school subject through which pupils develop the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to manage their lives, now and in the future. It helps children and young people to stay healthy and safe, while preparing them to make the most of life and work. When taught well, PSHE education also helps pupils to achieve their academic potential.
Lindsworth School takes a thematic approach to secondary PSHE education, covering all three core themes of the Programme of Study (Health and Wellbeing; Relationships; and Living in the Wider World) over six half terms. The curriculum is designed in such a way that all year groups are working on the same core theme at the same time. Content has been selected that ensures opportunities to develop knowledge, skills and attributes, through a programme that is relevant and appropriate to the ethos of the school and the needs of its students.
